Regulatory requirements on pension funds are predominantly governed on national level and entail look-through reporting on investment funds. The most commonly observed reporting requests to fund managers stem from Germany (VAG), Austria (PKG), the Netherlands (FTK), Italy (COVIP) and Sweden (Traffic Light).
VAG Reporting
We produce VAG reports to German pension funds and small insurers according to the BVI template.
EIOPA/ECB Reporting
We consult asset managers and pension funds in the field of EIOPA/ECB reporting.
Other Pension Fund Reports
Production of PKG, FTK, COVIP and Traffic Light reports.
VAG Reporting
In scope are German pension funds and insurers with gross premium income below 5m EUR. In order to assess asset class, rating and issuer information within fund investments and aggregate on company level, asset managers are requested quarterly to provide VAG relevant reports to pensions funds and small insurers. To allow for a systematic fund lookthrough reporting for VAG clients, BVI has defined a VAG reporting template which needs to be populated on a quarterly basis.
Our services include the VAG classification of all positions using WM’s VAG database and separate logics for OTC and unlisted positions (e.g. for real estate and infrastructure funds).
EIOPA/ECB Reporting
We are actively enaged in the European FinDatEx (Financial Data Exchange Templates) working group in workstreams related to the translation of TPT fields into EIOPA/ECB pension fund fields. We believe that leveraging high-quality TPT reports for the use of look-through reporting under EIOPA/ECB requirements for pension funds provides a significant efficiency gain effect to the asset management and pension fund industry.
Our services include consulting and report production of EIOPA/ECB reports to fund managers and pension funds.
Other Pension Fund Reports
Many of our clients are large, internationally operating asset managers facing a broad range of regulatory reporting requests. These include the following reporting types: PKG (Austria), FTK (Netherlands), COVIP (Italy), Traffic Light (Sweden). With our approach to standardise asset manager data with an individual, client specific data interface, we are able to provide a fully automated report production and in general a straight forward extension of reporting requirements to further regulations.
